​Little Flower Vidyanikethan was established in 1993 under the name Sanjo English Medium School in the St. Joseph’s Udayagiri Church Campus. It is an initiative of Missionaries of Little Flower (MLF), a catholic religious congregation founded by Arch Bishop Mar. Joseph Powathil,  Arch Bishop Emirates Arch Diocese of Changanassery. It is run and managed by Little Flower Educational Trust Reg.No.100/4/2000. In 1998 the school management owned a property in Achickal and the new school building was inaugurated by former Finance Minister Late Sri. K M Mani, and blessed by Mar. Joseph Pallickaparambil, Bishop Emirates of Palai. This school is a fully fledged secondary school affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations and is conducting classes from play school to STD 10. We believe that learning is a lifelong process; it is a journey, not a destination. We have students from a variety of backgrounds with different skills and abilities. The diversity of our school program offers real-life experiences for students to learn and grow. Each member of the staff works hard to provide the best possible learning experience for each child through new instructional strategies and techniques. We are aware that community is developed through character education and social skills learning, which are integral parts of the daily routine. The student friendly campus and atmosphere is our main specialty. We focus on the spiritual development of each student and also encourage the students to face the challenges in life. St.Theresa of Lisieux is our Patroness who had a deep faith in the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man and devoted herself to the cause of Divine Love.

St. Theresa of Lisieux
​
​Theresa was born on 2nd January, 1873 as the youngest of the five daughters of St.Louis Martin and St. Zelie Guerin. Although they lost their mother when Theresa was only four years old, all the five sisters overcoming the temptations of a rich lifestyle, became nuns.

Teresa felt an early call to religious life and overcoming various obstacles, in 1888 at the early age of 15, she joined in the Cloistered Carmelite Community of Lisieux, Normandy.Teresa was conspicuous for her virtues.Her child like simplicity, utter humility, constant self-sacrifice and boundless love for God and trust in Him were some of the most outstanding virtues.After a long struggle with tuberculosis she died on September 30, 1897 at the age of 24 and ever since she is showering her heavenly roses upon humanity. Her last words were the story of her life “My God, I love you ”.

Theresa lived a hidden life and “wanted to be unknown”,yet became popular after her death through her spiritual autobiography,”The story of a soul.” The depth of her spirituality of which she said,“my ways is all confidence and love”, has inspired many believers. She wanted to go to heaven by an entirely new little way and that way is called “Spiritual Childhood” she said “I wanted to find an elevator that would raise me to Jesus.” The elevator,she wrote, would be the arms of Jesus lifting her in all her littleness.

Teresa was canonized in 1925 by Pope Pius XI and was declared patroness of the missions with Francis Xavier in 1927 in the whole world. On October 19, 1997 Pope John Paul II declared Saint Teresa of Child Jesus the thirty third doctor of the church, the youngest person, and at that time only the third woman, to be so honored. Devotion to Teresa has developed around the world. Her feast day is on October 1st.Theresa quotes: “Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice,here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love”.

We have a system of complete and comprehensive evaluation of each child. We identify their strengths and help them optimize their performance. In addition, children have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability. Talented children are given additional training to excel in the areas of their interests.

Drawing inspiration from the word of God ‘Love and serve’ is the motto of the school. Our ultimate aim is to develop each student into a God-centered individual, ready to dedicate himself/herself to human service through attaining proper growth at the intellectual, physical, mental, spiritual, moral, social and cultural levels. It is an exhortation to all students to be human, modest, loving and genuine in their thoughts and deeds.
